From Art School to the Seven Seas, Petrolhead Heaven and a whole lot of Rock n Roll…
Nearly 10 years in the writing… almost 500 pages. I never meant it to be anything more than a personal diary for myself and my family. Then friends read some of it and said it simply had to be a book. So here it is if you are interested. From the 50s & 60s Art School with several soon to be musical icons. Family disagreements and running away to sea. Twice around the world, amazing experiences, narrow escapes, mistakes and shenanigans.
Back to Terrafirma running a succession of motor magazines and racing. A talented son and the discovery of Rock n Roll. Bands…bands and more bands. Recording and a major recording deal. Touring, Festivals, an accident and back to normality with a business for 20 years. Rock n Roll surfaces again. More recording, playing and touring. A culmination of 7 albums and more to follow. all this and a wonderful family to boot.
In retrospect would I change anything ? maybe some of the stupid mistakes, but on the whole…Nahhh! its been a blast.”

I didn’t meet Reuben Archer until 2004, by which time he already had an eclectic and fascinating past.
We met through music, which was a shared passion and already a significant part of his story. As we became close friends, however, I realised that Rock ‘n’ Roll was just a fraction of this man’s plethora of experiences and talents.
We’ve holidayed in Europe together with our partners, have flown together in light aircraft over the English countryside, have shared the same stage on numerous occasions and have enjoyed several bottles of Rioja, all whilst having plentiful laughs. He is a constant source of inspiration and entertainment and I consider him my life-long friend.
“A ROCK n ROLLERCOASTER RIDE” is an impassioned, autobiographical account of Reuben’s life to date, in which he recounts his early childhood days, growing up in Kingston-on-Thames in London, through to his avid interest in fast, expensive cars, performing live music and his current reversion back to his artistic past.
With an insatiable appetite for life and adventure, who knows what he will do next?
